I've always been proud of my impeccable teeth. After having endured seven years of orthodontic work and being a religious flosser and electric toothbrush owner, I'm not gonna lie, I thought my teeth were awesome. But alas, last week during my bi-annual check-up, my dentist detected two cavities. I was bummed. Twenty-four years of cavity free living. Over.

I had them filled today, my first non-pleasant trip to the dentist. God I hated it. Not so much the drilling but the whole numbing sensation. The idea of rendering your nerves senseless? So odd. My lip felt fat and my face felt droopy.

I'm going to start brushing my teeth after lunch in hopes of avoiding another filling for awhile.
